This weekend finally sees the return of cricket and outdoor hospitality in Whitefield’s biggest beer garden at the club albeit with a few added regulations to abide by.
Friday 16th April is the return of junior training for all ages from 6.15pm onwards.
We will have the following age groups, Eagles, U11s, U13s and U15s.
The bar will be open for outside service only from 6pm. You may have read that there are to be no spectators in Step 2 (as of 12th April), there are exemptions one of which is of course parents are allowed due to safeguarding.
Saturday 17th April we kick off the adult season with a 1st XI game against Walshaw starting at 12.30pm. The bar will be open for outside service from 12pm.
The legislation states that there are to be no spectators. There is an exemption in place for cricket clubs. As long as you are participating in the outdoor hospitality then if cricket activity is taking place then you are welcome to watch it.
Yes you read that right. Basically buy a drink, sit down in our beer garden and you are no longer classed as a spectator it would appear…
Can I please stress that we have been told by the league to prevent “hospitality patrons” from walking around the ground during the match. Please follow and comply with the signage that will be in place.
Our 2nd XI are away at Roe Green on Saturday with our 3rdXI away at Elton on the Sunday.
