Due to the ongoing threat we are all involved in, and following the government and ECB guidelines, please see the following:

  • AGM planned for Fri 27/03 – postponed to a later date in the year TBA
  • Brewery trip planned for Thu 02/04 – postponed to a later date in the year TBA

Beer Festival planned for Fri 10/04 – Sun 12/04 – postponed to a later weekend in the year TBA. To the barrel sponsors a huge thank you and unless advised otherwise we will keep the funds to be used to buy the barrels once we know that we can put the festival on.

All senior and junior indoor training have been cancelled with immediate effect.

The GMCL have made a statement to say that at present the cricket season will not start until at least the end of May. This comes with it a whole host of issues which will be fully explained as and when the information is available. What has been told to us by the league is that there will be no promotion or relegation for any senior team for this season so all teams will play in their respective divisions in 2021. This tentative start date given applies to all cricket, senior and junior.

In terms of junior and senior outdoor training we will update this once ECB have given any further updates. Currently we can give no start date for these.

This is all incredibly difficult financially for the club, as indeed I’m sure it will be for many such clubs all over the country.

What can you do to help us during this time? Well, we would really appreciate it if membership fees could be paid! That at least should enable us to pay our direct debit commitments. Also any kind members who have agreed to be a ball sponsor, the funds now would also be much appreciated, and lets all hope that we get to use the balls this summer! Please look out for the specific e-mails from Karl and Stuart regarding these.

I will have to do the 100 Club draws for March and April as and when we can actually re-open the club, otherwise I’ll be doing it over Facetime!

None of us have ever had to endure anything like this in our lifetimes, I hope and pray that every single one of you, your family and all your friends come out the other side in good health. I suppose then we would need a damn good party!
